Fear Itself Arrives on NBC May 29th

Fear Itself is a new horror anthology series in the vein of Showtime's Masters of Horror, although it will surely have a few more snips made before they can come to broadcast television. The series will be taking over the Thursday time slot of ER come the end of May, as reported over at Bloody-Disgusting.com.

Why is this exciting news? Well, it is horror on network television, accessible to more than the Showtime series, and who doesn't like horror anthologies?

The series will feature a number of known directors and recognizable faces. Directors include John Landis (An American Werewolf in London), Darren Bousman (Saw II, III, IV), Ronny Yu (Bride of Chucky, Freddy Vs. Jason), Mary Harron (American Psycho), Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator, From Beyond), and Ernest Dickerson (Bones). On the star front, be prepared to see Brandon Routh, Shiri Appleby, Elisabeth Moss, Cynthia Watros, Eric Roberts and John Billingsley.

It may not be as censor free as Masters of Horror, it is still exciting news and I hope the series does well. At least better than last year's Masters of Science Fiction, which was good but failed to draw audiences. Also, the episodes will arrive in uncut form in a future DVD release.
