Recently, I decided to revisit a movie I remember loving as a child. I was curious to see how it held up, if it held up, and if my opinion of it has changed in the intervening years. The movie is none other than Disney’s 1979 science fiction epic, The Black Hole. Burned into my memory since my youth are the robots, the floating VINCENT, the malevolent Maximilian, the swirling of the black hole, and, of course, that rolling, flaming meteor that threatened to eliminate our intrepid heroes as we steamed towards the climax. Now, I have seen the film a few times over the years, but I cannot recall the last time i saw it. I was also sad to discover that I did not have it in my collection (thankful for the local library).

Horror-A-Day: Dr. Orlof's Monster
So, I seems that the cool weather is finally here to stay and I already miss my shorts. Yes, I look forward to the seasonally cool Fall weather, but that doesn't mean I can't also miss the comfort of my shorts. I guess it doesn't matter when I spend most of my time inside a climate controlled room. I guess if I want to warm up I can watch a movie with a warm setting, like A Nightmare on Elm Street's boiler room or Tatooine in Return of the Jedi. Conversely I could go for a chill with The Thing. It was none of these this night.

Horror-A-Day: The Awful Dr. Orlof
Well, it's been a few days. My horror a day run got slightly derailed this past weekend. However, on the plus side the weather finally seems to be on the cooling trend. I wonder how long it will take until the snow hits? I kid, I kid. Fortunately, indoors there are still tons of movies waiting to be watched. The movies will never leave me behind and will never leave me with a desire for something new. With that said, I found another first timer to cross my eyes. Also, fortunately, it was actually pretty good.

Horror-A-Day: The Black Sleep
The chill has thus far been a tease. Evidence of the lack of real pre-Halloween chills can be found as close as me, the shorts have not yet been tucked away. Now, with that image seared into your brain (sorry), the horror-a-thon continues with yet another movie I have not seen. No matter how many you discover, there is always a steady flow filled with other sights to be discovered right behind. The one thing I need to try and figure out is how to parlay this horror run to the rest of the year. Thoughts for another time.

Movie Review: Sssssss
Do you like snakes? I don't. Well, they are pretty cool creatures and all, but I like to keep my relationship to them like Indiana Jones. Now, while I choose not to associate with them in an in person fashion, I have absolutely no problem with them on the screen. That brings us to today's film, the 1973 cult man versus nature flick Sssssss. I have to say it isssss definitely worth sssspending ssssome time with. Too much?
