Reviews in Retrograde: Airheads

Critical Outcast isn't my first attempt at a website, I had a few stutter steps in the late 1990's and early 2000's. These attempts generated a whole bunch of poorly written, often very short and spoilerific reviews. I recently stumbled upon them in my archives and thought you may be interested in seeing some of these early attempts at writing. They are as they were then, I make no apologies for how bad or how short they are. Feel free to have at them with reckless abandon! I present to you: Reviews in Retrograde.

Airheads

Chazz, Rex, and Pip are a band known as The Lone Rangers, and all their looking for is some attention. But when they take over a radio station with fake guns in order to get their song played over the airwaves, they get a little more than they bargained for.

Being a fan of rock music, I enjoyed this movie. It has a really bad band, not to mention stupid, trying to get their demo played on a local radio station by taking it hostage with water guns. The plot is real basic and the stereotypes are just screaming, but at the same time it was a lot of fun. Mainly because of Buscemi, he is a ray of light, and talent, in all of the movies he appears in, his sarcasm and odd looks are a great addition to any film. Sandler is also pretty funny, as the naive likable band member. The weak part was the script which didn't quite come together.

Entertaining piece of fluff, with the likable Fraser and Sandler's comic mischief.
