The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the legal spat between Fox and Warner Brothers over the upcoming Watchmen release is at an end as the two sides will present their proposal to the courts on Friday and request the case be dismissed. This can be seen as nothing other than a good thing.
Frankly, I am glad to see this coming to an end. Anything that would have abnormally delayed the release can be seen as nothing but bad.
Details have not been disclosed, but it is expected involve a lump payment to Fox as well as a percentage of the box office gross. Expect a formal press release on Friday. Furthermore, it is said that Warner is going after producer Larry Gordon, who originally came to them with the deal, for reimbursement for the cost of the settlement.
Terms aside, let us all rejoice!
