The Week That Was.....A Viewer's Diary: 5/29-6/4

Welcome to the lean episode. There wasn't much to watch this week, as the final finales all aired last week and the summer series I want to watch don't start until next week. But I didn't want to let all of you down, so here is the lean mean week that was.

Sunday 5/29.
  • Nothing
Monday 5/30.
  • WWE: Raw. The show opened with a nice video package tribute to our armed forces on Memorial Day, then moves onto the first segment, a swimsuit competition. The only purpose served was the continued attempt to get Christy over and also to turn Victoria heel. Next was a mediocre tag match between Hurricane and Rosey and the Heartthrobs. Then a triple threat with both members of La Resistance and Shelton Benjamin, this was a pretty good match with Shelton retaining his belt. Then Jericho has Edge and Lita for an interview which serves to attack Kane. Then we have an ECW rules table match with Benoit and Edge, with Bischoff leading an interference team allowing Edge to get the win. Final match of the night is Batista vs. Mohammad Hassan, this ends in a DQ win for Hassan and then a beat down from Batista. Tables match was the best of the night. **.5
Tuesday 5/31.
  • Nothing
Wednesday 6/1.
  • Nothing
Thursday 6/2.
  • WWE: Smackdown. Opens with Carlito's Cabana, Carlito comes out with Matt Morgan to inteview John Cena. This was a comical segment and set up the main event, Carlito and Morgan vs. Cena and Big Show. First match was a decent contest, a mosdt falls in fifteen minutes match for the tag titles pitting MNM against Charlie Haas and Hardcore Holly, MNM retains the belts. Next was Kurt Angle against Booker T and Sharmell, this has a disturbing edge to it, I really don't care for this bizarre direction that Angle is going in. Not much else in the show, a number of ECW promos and a couple of squash matches. The main event set up in the opener was pretty good with the good guys victorious. **.5
Friday 6/3.
  • Nothing
Saturday 6/4.
  • Teen Titans. Continuing last weeks trend, I figured what the heck, I'll watch it. So, I had it on in the background while I surfed, but the whole thing did not impress me much. It featured some guy called Slade with a strange symbol on his head telling Raven to fulfill her destiny while the rest of the team tries to figure out what is going on. **
  • The Batman. I think this show is growing on me, the animation is a bit rougher and the characterizations take a bit of getting used to, but it isn't that bad. This episode bits our dark knight against Scarface, the puppet with Wesker as the hand in control, and his pair of muscleheads. ***
  • Justice League: Unlimited. Huntress fails a test and Manhunter kicks her out of the League. On her way out, see enlists the aid of the faceless Question on a trip to eliminate a murderer in custody. This brings them head to head with Green Arrow and Black Canary who are on guard duty. ***

Next week will be better, I promise.
