The Trailer Park: Howl's Moving Castle

I have finally seen the trailer for this, and a commercial, and I am officially excited at the prospect of seeing this. I must admit that this title has slipped on and off of my radar for awhile, but whenever Hayao Miyazaki's name comes up, I tend to pay attention.

I have seen a few of his movies, most notably Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service. I own others seen, and unseen. Each one brings something new, but there is something that is always consistent in what I have seen, quality. There is always excellent animation, beautiful details, and a magical story which can play to the whole family without looking down on the young members of the audience. Miyazaki respects his audience, especially the younger set by not playing dumb for them, but treating them as if they own a brain, unlike many kids programs and films.

This film concerns a young woman stricken by a curse who must enter Howl's castle in search of the wizard capable of restoring her. At least, that is what I am gathering from the trailer. The trailer looks great, promising that same high level of consistency exhibited in his past work. I only hope that it plays near me so I can see it on the big screen.

You can see the trailer HERE.
