The Next Bond?

Well, it appears that Eric Bana is in negotiations to take over the role of James Bond from Pierce Brosnan who has left the character. He has reportedly beaten out other contenders Jude Law, Orlando Bloom, and Heath Ledger.

I think Bana would be good in the role, he is on the verge of being a big star. He started gathering notice when he was in Black Hawk Down, and most recently starring in Hulk, and co-starring in Troy. He has the look and screen presence to pull it off. I think Hugh Jackman would have been good for the role as well.

What I really want to mention here are the other notable possibilities. i have to ask, what were they thinking? Jude Law is a good actor, but does not look like Bond to me, and he is the best of these three. Orlando Bloom, sorry but no. He is so bland on screen, I haven't seen anything from him to prove his notoriety, he was decent as an elf, but doesn't have the screen presence to play Bond. Lastly, Heath Ledger? His acting is getting worse with each movie, have you seen The Order?

If this is the crop of actors up to replace Bond, I feel sorry for the series. On a more positive note, if they can pull it off, more power to them, I will give them the benefit of the doubt.
