It has been nearly three years since we last saw Liam Neeson put on the guise of Bryan Mills, the former agent with the particular set of skills. Granted, those three years have not been completely devoid of Liam Neeson as bad ass, we did get A Walk Among the Tombstones and Non-Stop in the interim. I think you could also toss in his performance as Bad Cop in The Lego Movie as a sort of family-friendly bad ass. The only thing I can hope for at this point is that this is the last we see of Bryan Mills. It is not that I don't like him or this movie, but I think they have run out of stuff for him to do.

Movie Review: Lucy (2014)
I recall the first time I saw the trailer for Lucy, I was immediately interested. It looked like a fun/weird mash up of action and science fiction. Then I learned it was from writer/director/producer Luc Besson and I was fully on board. Sure, he is pretty far removed from his artistic heights of Leon, La Femme Nikita, and The Fifth Element, but there is still something about his productions, his blending of high concept and everyday action that I have always liked. Sure, The Family left something to be desired, but then again, everyone has their off time, right? Back to the movie at hand, Lucy looked like a winner from the get go to this guy.

Movie Review: Brick Mansions
It was maybe a month ago, maybe two, that I was sitting in a theater getting ready to watch some mover or other when I first saw the trailer for Brick Mansions. The first thing I noticed was Paul Walker, this is the last film he completed before his untimely death. The second thing that I noticed was just how familiar the whole thing seemed... Walled off ghetto, a ruthless crime boss, a pairing of cop and criminal, and a bomb. Oh yes, there was the whole parkour thing as well. Then the credit block came up at the end and everything clicked.

Movie Review: 3 Days to Kill
It really feels like Kevin Costner is trying to revive his movie career. I mean, it is not like he ever really went anywhere, but he is appearing more in higher profile films. Now, I am not his biggest fan, but I have no problem with this. As a matter of fact, his latest is pretty darn good, much better than I was expecting it to be, and not exactly what was sold by the trailer. Granted, my enjoyment may have been due to my extremely low expectations, but I cannot deny liking the movie. It is a B movie that recognizes this and throws a bunch of stuff at the screen that does not always make sense, but still works as a whole that drew me in and kept me involved.
