Trailer Alert: Batman v Superman - Dawn of Justice..... who turned out the lights?

One day after a bad bootleg video began circulating, Warner Brothers has released the official high definition version of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It was a few days before the expected date of 4/20, but I guess they would get ahead of the boot and just get the real thing floating around. Why not? It's just a couple of days and it is promotional material as it is. I guess the question really is whether or not it is any good. The answer is are sounding, it looks interesting.

Part of the problem, from my perspective, is that it comes on the heels of the new Star Wars teaser. A trailer that I just adore. On top of that, the movie is the follow up to Man of Steel, a Superman movie I did not much care for. It was an all right action movie, but it just wasn't Superman to me. I can only hope this movie is better. I feel pretty sure it will be better, but if it will be good, that is something else.

I am still not sold on this version of Superman, I won't deny it is interesting, just not what I think I want. Superman is treated as a deity, there is talk about the corruption of power and where he may or may not fit. Then there is Batman, played by Ben Affleck, who clearly sees Superman as a threat. The two are set to clash and there are a whole bunch of other heroes set to appear as well.

You can see they are working on building the DC cinematic universe, but I cannot help but thinking they are making it too dark. This universe does not seem to be much fun yet. On the plus side, Affleck looks good as Batman and the suit looks pretty awesome. Time will tell.

In the meantime, enjoy:
