Chiller Halloween 2013 is a Memory

The Fall Chiller convention has come and gone and I have had another fun time. I really enjoy the wide selection go stars, new, old, rare, and whoever else they can get their hands on. This outing was no different, and while I was not able to get to everyone I really wanted, but that is the way it goes. Still, everyone I did meet was pretty great. Anyway, let's move on and take a look at some of the pictures of the day.

The Chiller convention is held at a Sheraton in Parsippany, New Jersey, in a building that looks like a castle out of a Hammer film.

The fist person I met inside was Kenji Sahara, veteran of Toho's Godzilla films and the lead actor in Rodan. He was an exceptionally nice and polite man and while he did not speak much English, you could tell he was having a great time meeting the fans.

In the same room was another guest from Japan, Yukiko Kobayashi. She starred in films such as Destroy All Monsters, Yog the Monster fro Space, and The Vampire Doll. She was also very nice.

The next stop was with a couple of ladies from the world of Star Trek. First was Marina Sirtis, probably better known as Deanna Troi from Star Trek: The Next Generation. She was great, talking with my sister about her campaign to be the next Doctor on Doctor Who. She also told us about going to the theater with David Tennant and how she may have scared him.

At the next table over we found Terry Farrell, she was Jadzia Dax on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She liked my Friday the 13th shirt, barely getting out that Jason truly scares her. We then discussed her as more of a Pinhead girl, and that Clive Barker was writing a new Hellraiser, seems she'd like to be a part of it...

In the same room, I met Michale Graves. He was very cool. I lied him ever since I first heard him singing with The Misfits. He seemed to be having a good time, trying figure out how to escape the lines for coffee.

From there, we moved down the hall to one of the larger autograph rooms. While there, my sister got a couple of autographs. We met Gilbert Gottfried And Steve Guttenberg. The former was an odd little guy who did not say much. Guttenberg seemed to be having a great time, doing his first convention.

Next up was the first exceptionally long line of the day. The line was Ralph Macchio's. That's right, the Karate Kid himself. I had to have him sign my poster, which has already been signed by Martin Kove and William Zabka. He was a nice guy, hard to believe he is 51.

Next up was Erich Anderson, he was Rob, the guy looking for his sister, in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. He really liked my poser, looking around for the weapon used to kill him, and found it. It was the garden claw.

We then went onto the next room where I met Melanie Kinnaman from Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning. She was nice and also liked my poster, before going onto to remark on the hear. It was pretty darn hot in there.

The next table over was Peter Barton, he was Doug in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. He was cool, lamenting his implement of death is not on the poster, of course Jason used his hands.

Next was Zach Galligan, star of Gremlins and Hatchet IIi. He was having a good time and seemed to enjoy hearing about his Hatchet appearance. Of course, his was after a drunk guy was wondering why he didn't bring Gizmo with him, and meaning it.

Ken Page was also there, he was cool and has an amazing voice. You may know him better as Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I did not get a picture with him, being a bit cost prohibitive.

While I was with Ken Page, my sister was with Paige O'Hara. She as the voice of Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

My sister then met Naomi Grossman, who endearment an amazing transformation to play Pepper on American Horror Story. She as having an absolute blast at the con and while I was taking a picture of her with my sister, her people were taking a picture of me taking a picture of her

I also saw Kent McCord, I was interested in getting his autograph, but sadly, he didn't have any Farscape photos with him. Hopefully there will be another time.

Next was Ken Foree, star of Dawn of the Dead. I had him sign a couple of other posters I was working on, Halloween and The Devil's Rejects. He was cool, and looks surprisingly like Lawrence Fishburne in the picture with me.

My sister then met Hammer star and one time Dr. Who villain, Kate O'Mara. She was nice, but seemed to be rather frail.

We went back into the bowels of the autograph hall and found the remote room they stuck Corey Feldman in. Of course, we had to wait in a rather lengthy line that topped an hour just to get in the room. Could have been worse. He was pretty happy to be there and was able to add him to my Friday poster.

Final stop was in that same room, my sister wanted to meet Zack Ward from A Christmas Story, Titus, and Resident Evil Apocalypse. He is very cool guy to chat with, though he did not seem as happy as at Monster Mania, he did not feel as if everybody new he was there. Still, it was great talking with him.

That about wraps it up, save of a pass through the largest collection of screen used Jaws props:

Good by until next year, Chiller!
