Director Andy Fickman is finally making a movie without Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. For his third straight Disney feature, following The Game Plan and Race to Witch Mountain, Fickman will be working with Kristen Bell, last seen on the big screen in the long in development Fanboys.
The movie will feature Bell as a character who learns her brother is marrying the woman who made her life hell during their school years. Certainly sounds like a genre busting winner to me. Perhaps I am being a little too harsh, I do not expect Disney to deliver groundbreaking cinema, all I want is solid filmmaking that is safe for the family wih the occasionally strong piece of work. This occasionally happens, and I think Fickman's The Game Plan was surprisingly good, will this follow suit? We shall see.
This news is being reported by First Showing.net, and they are not shy in saying they will likely not see the film. I, on the other hand, am not shy in saying I will see anything with Kristen Bell in it. Now, if we could only get some more Veronica Mars.
