Knowing - Poster, Trailer

What happens when you mix a poster that looks like War of the Worlds with a trailer that mixes Next with The Number 23? An awfully lame looking film with the unfortunate title Knowing. Nicolas Cage stars as a man who finds a pattern in a series of numbers taken from an old time capsule that reveal the dates of natural disasters. It just does not look all that good. The big problem is that this is directed by a man whose name made me want to see a movie, now he is slipping. He is Alex Proyas, maker of the brilliant The Crow (to me anyway) and Dark City, but more recently brought us I, Robot (sure, enjoyable, but hardly good). Time will tell.
