Movie Media: Star Trek XI - Trailer

It is here, the first teaser trailer for the JJ Abrams film that is slated for release Christmas 2008. I was jazzed when I heard that Abrams would be taking on the project, it is what the franchise needs, some fresh blood. However, my excitement faded as the casting was announced. Now don't get me wrong, I am sill eagerly looking forward to it, but some of the casting doesn't feel right. For example: Simon Pegg as Scotty, John Cho, as Sulu, and Karl Urban as McCoy. Seems like odd casting. Then there are ones that I feel a little better about, Chris Pine as Kirk looks good, as does Zachary Quinto as Spock, add Eric Bana as the Romulan villain and it looks decent. After seeing the trailer I could not help but feel a little geek giddy. It is a classy trailer revealing the original Enterprise as it is being built. As an added bonus there is the voice of Leonard Nimoy (who will be in the movie) and there is a feeling of respect for the material. Also, let's not forget the taste of the Michael Giacchino score. I want to see this. JJ, please don't let me (us) down.
