Poll Results: The Best Comic Inspired Film This Year Is:

Welcome once again to the results of one of my meager turnout polls. It's a good thing I don't do this weekly, like I used to!

August Poll: The Best Comic Inspired Film This Year Is:

  • Elektra 10% 2
  • Constantine 0% 0
  • Sin City 60% 12
  • Batman Begins 15% 3
  • Fantastic Four 5% 1
  • (no opinion) 0% 0
  • Other 10% 2
  • None 0% 0
  • total votes: 20

This past month's topic concerned the plethora of comic book based films flooding the theaters. They have ranged from the bad to the mediocre to the downright excellent.

Far and away the favorite among you voters is Sin City. It is my favorite too, it ranks among the best films I have seen all year. I guess I should give some quick thoughts on the other nominees.

Elektra was a decent, if severely flawed exercise. I still enjoyed as B level entertainment.
Constantine had some great set design, but the story felt sadly hollow.
Batman Begins, in my mind, was a close second to Sin City. It is an excellent example of how to correctly adapt a superhero tale.
Fantastic Four could have been so much better. The exposition was too long and didn't expose enough and the action was too brief.

This month had one of my better turnouts, thank you for that. Let's try to make the next one better, be sure to vote on my site!
