Movie Review: Pet Sematary (2019)

When it was announced that a remake of Pet Sematary was in the works, it was met with a mixture of interest and derision. For my tastes, I like the 1989 version, but cannot say I have any particular love for it, so I clearly fell on the interested side. On the other side of the coin, I know someone who loves the original, and while interested, was certainly approaching it with a good deal more skepticism than I. Now that it is here, it is open season for everyone to compare the two, as well as its value as another Stephen King adaptation. I cannot comment on the last bit as I have not read the book, which is amazing considering how much I love King and how much of his older output I’ve read.

Movie Review: Interstellar

All right, I am going to warn you right up front that this is not going to be a full review, but considering what my writing schedule will be for the next week, I figured I should get something down before I can't write anything at all. With that said, I am not sure what is about to come from my fingertips, but should be spoiler free. The movie in question, of course, is Interstellar, the latest cinematic excursion courtesy of Christopher Nolan, a filmmaker I have become a big fan of ever since discovering Memento, a movie I am very happy to have seen in a theater. Over the years his movies have grown, gotten bigger, gotten bolder, and while opinions are generally split, they create conversation. Not a bad thing.
