While looking for movies featuring Bill Moseley, I stumbled across The Tortured on Netflix. I read the description and must admit to being intrigued, if not exactly wowed. I decided to give it a shot, being less than 90 minutes, it wasn’t exactly going to be a complete time suck. So hit play an settled in. The first thing to great me was the familiar Twisted Pictures logo, that I have ingrained in my mind as the start of a Saw movie (like Village Roadshow with The Matrix and the Fox fanfare with Star Wars). In any case, this movie doesn’t really need this much of a preamble, if you couldn’t guess from the title, this is your standard torture porn feature.

Movie Review: Norwegian Ninja
Do you ever watch a movie and wonder just what the hell you are watching? I had that feeling last night. It was a movie I had never heard of before, but had somehow found its way into my Netflix queue. To be honest, the only reason I was even watching it was because it was about to expire. I am sorta, kinda, maybe glad I did. I enjoyed the movie, but it seriously had my head shaking as I tried to wrap my head around the abject absurdity that was dancing across my television screen. The movie is called Norwegian Ninja. It has nothing to do with ninjas. Fortunately, it does have something to do with Norway.

Movie Review: The Final (2010)
So, the other day I was watching a movie called The Final. It wasn't a great movie, but it was still rather effective. It is a recent horror film from the team of director Joey Stewart and writer Jason Kubati. Neither one has many credits in their respective roles, but they came together and turned out a movie that managed to sneak its way past my defenses and kept me, for the most part, interested. It is a movie I have no problems recommending, so long as you are not expecting anything groundbreaking.

Movie Review: Black Rat
Sometimes when flipping through choices on Netflix a snazzy poster can go a long way. It reminds me of the days when I would by an album (well, CD) based on how cool the cover art was, one of my favorite discoveries was Sepultura (that Arise art was pretty awesome). Anyway, I came across a little movie sitting oh so very lonely in my queue, its poster seemed quite inviting with a schoolgirl wearing a big rat head and holding a bat with the title, Black Rat, scrawled next to her. Hey, it's only 75 minutes long, so if it was bad it would not be a large investment of time.

Horror-A-Day: Shadow (2010)
So, Halloween is definitely coming, it is right around the corner. All of the warning signs are there, friends have their decorations up, AMC has their FrightFest in full effect, and the stores are getting filled with Christmas stuff. Thanksgiving you say? What's that? Anyway, the temperatures are takin on a chilly demeanor with multiple frosty morning in a row and afternoons that still carry a chill. Still, horror movies are nice and cozy indoors and always ready to welcome me. Unfortunately, I have found that the recent selections have not exactly been all that stellar.

Horror-A-Day: Spiderhole
Today, today there was a definite chill in the air. The temperature dipped to the low 30's and there was a frost on the car windshield. I never like having to pull out the ice scraper before taking off for work. Sadly, this day comes every year. Now the chill is hear, we are officially out of shorts and t shirt weather. Well, the t shirts can stay. Now we can move onto the important stuff, it is still October and it is still horror season. Of course, horror season lasts all year. Bring it.
