Jane Got a Gun has finally arrived in theaters, some three years after it was shot. The movie has a production history that is the thing of legends. Unfortunately, the product that ends up on the screen is less than legendary. In fact, the movie is downright forgettable. It is a shame, too, as the cast is actually a good one, and a lot of the shots look fantastic. It really had all the parts needed to make a good movie, everything just conspired to ensure that this movie ended up not being good. Beyond that, the studio just snuck it into theaters, even upping the theater count from 400 to over 1200, but with no ad campaign, it was almost assured to fail.

Movie Review: The Boy (2016)
The Boy. I have to say that title does not really inspire much, does it? It just seems ever so bland. Also, I kept forgetting that was what this movie was called. Whenever I saw listings or mentions of The Boy, I had to stop and think about what the heck it was. I more often thought of it as the movie that tests The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan with being the top billed star in a movie. Whether or not she passed the test, from a box office point of view, I am not sure as I do not know what standards they were judging on. So far as if the movie is any good, well, I am happy to report it is surprisingly good film that I have no qualms recommending.

Movie Review: Ride Along 2
Two years ago theaters were graced with the presence of Ride Along, the buddy comedy that paired Kevin Hart with Ice Cube. Despite not being all that good of a movie, it proved to be a hit at the box office, assuring that we would see the pair again. It also seems to have been around this time that somebody, somewhere decided that Kevin Hart was going to be the next big comedy movie star. He was no stranger to the cinema, having been appearing in films for the better part of a decade. Now, while I think he can be funny, his outings of late have just not been funny. Ride Along 2 included.
