The Trailer Park: Stay

I've seen this trailer a few times at the theater, each time I couldn't help but feel intrigued. It looks like a bizarre psychological journey along a path that could lead to some interesting situations.

The trailer starts right off at setting up an aura of eeriness and unease. A psychiatrist introduces a patient to another doctor, who just happens to be that patients father. Something else, his father is dead. Later on the psychiatrist is speaking the young man's mother, who is also dead. The doctor is starting to lose it at this point trying to figure out what is going on.

It was directed by Marc Foster, who directed last year's wonderful Finding Neverland. Here he looks to be leaving the sentimentality behind in favor of a more gritty and creepy approach. Judging by the trailer, it looks as if he may have succeeded in that regard. Granted, trailers are meant to make movies look good, but are not all successful, this one is.

It stars the rising power trio of Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts, and Ryan Gosling. Ewan is the psychiatrist, Ryan is the suicidal patient, and I believe Naomi is Ewan's girlfriend, although the trailer isn't clear on this point.

In any case, I am looking forward to seeing this one. It could provide some quality performances, and hopefully a genuinely creepy film, or at least a strange trip to the edge of madness!

You can see the trailer HERE.
